Art Exploration
Art exploration is a form of method that uses creative expression as a means of improving mental and emotional well-being. It is a holistic approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, and seeks to address issues on all three levels. Art exploration can be used to help individuals cope with a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction, as well as physical challenges such as chronic pain or disability.
Art exploration is a powerful tool for promoting healing and well-being. It is based on the principle that everyone has the potential to be creative in some form or another and that creativity can be developed and nurtured through practice and experience. The focus of art therapy is often on the process of creating art, rather than the end product, and on the insights and emotions that can be gained through the act of creating art. It can help with self-expression, communication, problem-solving, relieving stress, and promoting healing.
Overall, art exploration is a holistic approach to healing that can benefit people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Whether you are struggling with emotional, psychological, or physical issues, art therapy can provide a safe, non-threatening way to explore your thoughts and feelings and to promote healing and well-being.
Who can benefit from Art exploration?
While art exploration can be an effective way for individuals to tap into their own creativity, it is not a requirement for participating in art therapy. Many people who participate in art therapy may have little or no experience making art, but are still able to benefit from the process. The focus of art exploration is often on the process of creating art, rather than the end product, and on the insights and emotions that can be gained through the act of creating art. It can help with self-expression, communication, problem-solving, relieving stress and promoting healing.
In large part, art exploration works by exercising the creative muscle, so to speak, however strong it might already be. In the same way that you don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from exercise or a coach to help give you new perspectives and guidance. You start at your skill level, and you slowly improve.
Why Be Seen Art Center Art exploration class?
It is important to note that not all creative projects offer the same level of therapeutic benefits. An art exploration practitioner can help by sharing art projects that are the best suited to specific goals that the client might have. This is one of the many ways that an art exploration practitioner is essential to the art process. While making art on your own can be fun, it cannot provide the same level of insight and understanding that working with an art exploration practitioner can offer.
An art exploration practitioner plays a crucial role in ensuring that students apply their creative expression appropriately in a way that promotes positive change by providing guidance and support.
The art exploration practitioners at Be Seen Art center have been working with special need community for years and proudly received a Art Therapy Practitioner Certificate certified by International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine, Complementary Medical Association, Centre of CPD Excellence and National Certification Council or Activity Professionals.

Many people may feel that they are not “artistic” enough to join Be Seen Art Center but this is not necessarily the case. Art exploration is not about producing “good” art, but rather about using the art-making process as a means of self-expression and exploration. We design our products based on student’s skills and abilities. Everyone can create a unique artwork and make an one of a kind finished product which can be showcased in the marketplace.
Q: “My kid doesn’t know how to use the art materials.”
Lack of familiarity with art materials doesn't pose a barrier at Be Seen Art Center. We offer ample guidance and support to assist students in learning how to use the materials, especially if they're unfamiliar with them. Additionally, various art tools and supplies are available for students with limited fine motor skills. This aspect becomes an integral part of the art exploration process, allowing students to experiment and discover the materials in a safe and encouraging environment.
Q: “My kid typically doesn’t show his/her feelings.”
Many people may feel uncomfortable showing their thoughts and feelings, and they may prefer to avoid any form of communication altogether. Art exploration can be a useful alternative for these individuals, as it allows for the expression of emotions and experiences through nonverbal means.
“Art exploration can be a way to explore and process difficult emotions.” For some people, it may be easier to express difficult or distressing emotions through art, rather than through any form of communication. Art exploration can be a way for the students to explore and process these emotions in a safe and supportive environment. As the student becomes more comfortable with the art-making process, they may be more open to show their emotions in different communication methods, eg. music, drama…etc..
Q: “Will my kid be judged on his/her art?”
At Be Seen Art Center, we understand that individuals may feel hesitant about their artistic abilities and fear being critiqued by instructors or peers. However, we want to assure our students that the primary emphasis lies in the process of art exploration and the joy derived from creating and exploring through art. Our aim is to assist students in harnessing their own ideas and thoughts to develop products that instill a sense of pride and satisfaction.
